Description: Book the cheapest flights going to Northern Mariana Islands using Skyscanner. Skyscanner is a trusted online source of cheap flights.

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, also simply called the Northern Mariana Islands, is in political union with the United States. It comprises of fifteen islands in the Micronesia region of the Pacific Ocean, about three-quarters from Hawaii to the Philippine Islands. Northern Mariana Islands is one of the five inhabited U.S. island territories, the others being Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa. The island Saipan contains over 90% of the population, as well as the Commonwealth's centre of government.

Scuba diving and Snorkelling - The most popular activities in Saipan are scuba diving and snorkelling. Certified divers can go for a 'Fun Dive' or a recreational dive, while first-time divers can take classes. Tours are also available and recommended, as some of the dive sites are not so easily navigable even for experienced divers. The Grotto is the most famous diving spot in Saipan, but is not recommended for novice divers. The Grotto is a collapsed limestone cavern with clear blue water and three underwater passageways. To reach the waters, one must first hike down steep concrete stairs. Other popular dive sites in the Northern Mariana Islands include Eagle Ray City (home to a large school of eagle rays), Shoan Maru Wreck Dive (a 497-foot Imperial Japanese Navy freighter from the WWII), Senhanon Cave, and Laolao Bay (where divers regularly come face to face with turtles).

Swimming at the Beaches - Of course, you don't need to go diving to enjoy the waters surrounding Saipan. There are white-sand beaches that are perfect picnic spots and shallow waters to wade around in. Some of the more popular beaches in Saipan are Unai Dankulo, Managaha, Obyan Beach, Micro Beach, and Paupau. Micro Beach also allows for other watersports activities such as windsurfing, parasailing, and jet-skiing.

American Memorial Park - Near Micro Beach is the American Memorial Park, which contains memorials, World War II bunkers, the AMP Visitor's Centre, and the site of a historic Carolinian village. There is also a playground for the kids.

Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden - This event is held every Saturday evening at the American Memorial Park during May Tourism Month. The festival features international cuisine and free live entertainment.

The best way to get around Saipan is by driving a vehicle. There are car rental agencies at the airport or in some of the larger hotels. Your driving license from your home country should be valid for 30 days, although you are required to bring an International Driver's License if the original one isn't in English. Commuter aircraft provides transportation to the only other two permanently inhabited islands of the Northern Mariana Islands: Tinian and Rota.

Saipan International Airport, also called Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, is the primary airport serving the Northern Mariana Islands. It is served by the airlines Aeroflot, Asiana Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Dynamic Airways, Freedom Air, Jeju Air, Sichuan Airlines, United Express, and Yakutia Airlines. There are regular flights from Guam, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, and Beijing.
